This trip was a little more casual, and less outdoorsy. We had a heavy four-person tent, folding chairs, and a cooler very full of beer. My recollection was that we had frank and beans for dinner. We started with an outfitter in Hayward. By June, the water level was little low in Hayward, and expectedly picked up as we went west. The second morning was raining, and put a damper on the second day. A little after Noon, we were picked up in Trego. The outfitter asked about bear sightings, which would have been good information to have ahead of time. At this point in my outdoor travels, I was very unknowledgeable about those things, and didn't make any food protection efforts. As I would come back to the St. Croix National Scenic Waterway again, this is a good system to visit.
